On the flip side, the months from the December holidays through March is the more expensive time of the year, because people flock to Florida from the freezing northern states!

When you know your Florida trip dates then you should start with a visit to your local travel agent where you can unearth some great deals. Yes, even in this day and age, not all Florida vacation spots have an online website, especially those in Northwest Florida!
You can blend both offline and online worlds by getting your paper brochures and using them as a baseline for your online searching.

Now it’s time for internet surfing. Find some of the websites of the online travel agencies that book Florida vacations, for their most up-to-the-minute prices. There will often be “internet only” deals on sites.
Once you have located a deal that intrigues you then call the agent or company and make them an offer for the vacation package. You would be pleasantly surprised at how many of the companies are willing to offer a “hot” customer a better deal, than possibly lose them to a competitor who will. Particularly if it’s for the Florida “off season” where bookings are a somewhat on the lean side.

Newspapers and magazines are wonderful way to track down current Florida vacation deals. When a newspaper covers a story on a vacation destination, they generally have a number of travel agencies advertising discounts and deals around the feature.
But here’s a tip you might not think about; when you look at those advertisements (usually for the highest priced times of the year), see if making a reservation a few weeks earlier or later makes a difference.
For example, if there was an article on Walt Disney World in the summer, bear this in mind — the resort price differences between the middle of August against the end of August can be many hundreds of dollars. You could save lots of cash by changing your vacation dates back a couple of weeks, or even days!
