Rome, the capital of Italy, is a very special destination. This city was and still is a great attraction due to its culture, architecture and power. In the time of the Roman Empire, it was an important political and economic center. Nowadays, Rome city breaks are the main point of interest for tourists worldwide.

Rome is one of the most photogenic cities. This is not surprising at all, considering the great variety of attractions: the Vatican, Fontana di Trevi, Piazza San Pietro or the Coliseum.

Rome is a true museum of humanity; its history, the famous monuments, the tourist infrastructure, the Vatican City and various traditions determined the development of a genuine tourist industry. Every year, Rome is visited by over 30 million tourists from around the world. For many visitors, Roman Empire ruins are the main attraction of this fabulous city. Nowadays, Rome is more than a stunning collection of antiquities. It is a modern city with a life of its own.

Completed in 113, Trajan’s Column commemorates Trajan’s victory. The column is approximately 30 meters high and contains 18 massive blocks of Carrara marble, each weighing 40 tones. This monument represents a genuine evidence of Trajan’s campaigns against Dacia in the years 101-102 and 105-106.

Some of the most important attractions are the temples of Vesta, the mausoleum of Hadrian (known as Castle Sant’Angelo), Trajan’s Column, Piazza di spagna, and the famous fountains: Fontana di Trevi and Fontana del Tritone.

The historical center of Rome hides many treasures: the seven hills, the Servian Wall and other unique buildings that have survived. Also, if you have some time, it would be a great experience to visit more than 200 palaces and 400 churches built in different styles.

Any tourist should visit Rome, the eternal fortress, which for centuries has held the political, military and spiritual supremacy on three continents.
